Over time biscuits have changed shape, flavour and consistency: in ancient times small sweets used to be prepared with rye, oats and chestnut flour. They were generally sweetened with honey and enriched with walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, etc. In medieval monasteries, various biscuit recipes were perfected and remained in use up to the end of the 19th century. Alce Nero biscuits are perfect for a healthy, balanced breakfast or a tasty snack, because they are made exclusively with flour obtained from grains grown in Italy and contain no eggs, flavourings, preservatives or fats of animal origin, only extra-virgin olive oil. This formulation makes them natural, healthy and light.
